What Is The Stargate Project?
The Stargate Project was a code name for a secret U.S. Army unit established in 1978 at Fort Meade, Maryland, by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and SRI International (a California contractor) to investigate the potential for psychic phenomena in military and domestic intelligence applications.
Background
The project was created in response to reports of psychically-gifted individuals who were claimed to have successfully performed such feats as telepathy, clairvoyance, and remote viewing. The project was managed for the DIA by Lieutenant Colonel (later Colonel) Alexander “Sandy” Sands. Its operational headquarters were at Fort Meade, Maryland and the unit was administered by the U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM).
Methods
